Pentair/USA Osmotic Membrane

The Pentair/USA membrane needs to be changed every 3 to 5 years for all RO models: RO-6, RO-7,RO-8 Premium. It is the main filtering component of every RO system. Reverse osmosis consists of separation of water particles from other compounds diluted in it using semi-permeable membrane – this is a process opposite to natural osmosis process taking place in living cells. The membrane stops 96-98% organic and non-organic contaminants diluted in water, bacteria and various viruses. The semi-permeable osmotic membrane is composed of multiple layers wound on a perforated mandrel located inside the membrane. Contaminated water is pushed to the membrane surface under pressure, where water particles permeate microscopic pores of the membrane. Contaminants are separated and discharged to a drain.

Supreme Reverse Osmosis water filters have 2 filter sets:

1. Small Filter Set - meant for RO-6, RO-7, RO-8 Supreme, and needs to be changed every 6 months.

2. Larger Filter Set - each RO system has a dedicated set that includes all of the necessary filter cartridges that need to be changed every 12 months.

Pentair/USA Osmotic Membranes need to be changed every 3 to 5 years (depending on the raw quality of the water).
