They contribute to disorders of gastrointestinal tract functions.
Chlorine
It contributes to reduction of the content of unsaturated fatty acids in the human body, and is responsible for malignant cancers of the urinary bladder and rectum (straight intestine). It may cause cirrhosis, thyroid tumours. Chlorine is also responsible for reduction of skin resistance (cracks, dryness), mucous membrane irritation, chest discomfort responsible for asthma.
Water hardness
It causes excessive drying of skin. Consuming water of high content of calcium and magnesium ions may cause kidney stones or gallbladder stones.
Iron
High content of iron in water may negatively impact health. A toxic dose for an adult is 15 g of iron sulphate /II/, and 6-10 g in case of children.
Heavy metals
Arsenic (As): abdominal pains, vomiting and diarrhoea associated with bladder cancer, respiratory system damage, inflammation of mucous membranes of eyes, nose, throat, skin, kidneys, liver and prostate, damage to the central nervous system.
Cadmium (Cd): nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, muscular contractions, damage to the liver, kidneys, bones, heart muscle, hypertension, deformation of bones and skeleton.
Chromium (Cr): skin irritation, ulceration, damage to the liver, kidneys, nervous tissues. Copper (Cu): physical and mental development disorders, damage to the liver and kidneys, damage to the heart muscle.
Lead (Pb): physical and mental development disorders, damage to the heart muscle, anemia, negative impact on the nervous system.
Mercury (Hg): damage to the kidneys, damage to the brain tissue, damage to the heart muscle, miscarriages, toxic impact on fetus diagnosed after birth: hearing and eyesight disorders, learning difficulties.
Bacteria and viruses
They are responsible for digestive tract diseases, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
