It is the main filtering component of every RO system. Reverse osmosis consists of separation of water particles from other compounds diluted in it using semi-permeable membrane. The semi-permeable osmotic membrane is composed of multiple layers wound on a perforated mandrel located inside the membrane. Contaminated water is pushed to the membrane surface under pressure, where water particles permeate microscopic pores of the membrane. Contaminants are separated and discharged to a drain.
